Rand Refinery is authorised by the South African Treasury through the South African Reserve Bank to sell Krugerrands to a number of major gold dealers around the world who act as primary distributors of the coins.
Krugerrand coins can be purchased internationally through these primary distributors, such as banks, dealers, brokerage houses and coin dealers in Germany, United Kingdom and United States of America.
The price of gold internationally is expressed in US dollars per troy ounce. It is then converted to national currency gold prices based on the prevailing exchange rate with the dollar.
Krugerrands can also be purchased from Rand Refinery if there is no primary distributor available in the country of purchase.

Where to buy and sell Krugerrands in South Africa
The pricing for South African buyers and investors is based upon the current price of gold plus a small premium to cover the cost of minting, marketing and distribution. Rand Refinery's pricing for the coins is based on the London pm fix as per the London Bullion Market Association for gold and the ruling ZAR/US Dollar exchange rate is fixed by Rand Refinery at the same time.
