Located in South Africa, Rand Refinery is
the world’s largest single-site refining and smelting complex for a variety of precious metal products.
Our business does, however, extend beyond refining and smelting to include a comprehensive range of precious metals management services to the mining and jewellery industries both locally and globally.
Aside from our logistics, vault, treasury, smelting and refining services, we offer an array of value-added products including
cast and minted bars, coin blanks and various semi-fabricated items for the jewellery manufacturing industry.
Rand Refinery has also been responsible for manufacturing, marketing and delivering in excess of 54 million bullion Krugerrand coins - representing over 46 million ounces of gold in various denominations - since the coin was launched in 1967. We have also processed more than 40 000 tons of gold since our establishment, representing more than one third of all the gold ever mined world-wide.
